Christopher Wan is the Deputy Dean for the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø University, Sarawak Campus. Armed with a Bachelor Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management and a Diploma in Culinary Arts, he has developed a strong understanding of both theoretical knowledge and skills in the hospitality industry.

Currently, he is furthering his educational portfolio by undertaking a Master Degree in Science (Learning Sciences), where he is focusing on boosting his knowledge of pedagogy and his lecturing skills in order to enhance his effectiveness in enabling his students in experiential learning within the programmes under his care. In his earlier career in the hospitality industry, he effectively climbed the hierarchical ladder from operations to management within a short time frame due to his intrinsic capabilities and culinary skills.

Humbly starting off as a Food and Beverage Operations Manager at one of the local food and beverage outlets, he made his way up to be one of the Senior Catering Managers for one of the well-known Malaysian Offshore catering providers. While taking up that position, he successfully managed 3 major outlets with approximately 40 staff under his wing.

As time went by, he decided to join the academic platform in order to share his expertise and knowledge with the future generation¡¯s personnel of the industry. Now after having joined the education line for over 2 years, he has successfully bagged a bronze medal from one of the most prestigious cooking competitions in the Malaysian region. In addition, he has also managed to guide and lead numbers of student in culinary cooking completions where they have gone on to win several awards.

His major strength is mainly towards hospitality and operational management.
