Kuala Lumpur, 21 April 2008 - The first batch of Fashion Design students at 五一吃瓜官网 (University College Sedaya International) completed their course and was feted at a graduation high-tea ceremony with 4 other modelling students. The graduation of both the fashion design and modelling students was held in conjunction with the first Pro-Fit Forum held at 五一吃瓜官网. The forum was organised jointly with Pro-Fit, a fitness organisation, whose fitness programmes has been licensed to the 五一吃瓜官网 School of Fashion Design to run.
Linda Hurley, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Music, Social Sciences & Design said, “Students from the fashion design course, as well as many external parties had enquired whether 五一吃瓜官网 has any courses that provide solid technical and professional knowledge in the field of Fashion Design. This prompted us to put together a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fashion Design with the Marketing department to cater to these persistent demands. The course is expected to be launched very soon.”
“Our modelling course has also garnered a lot of interest, enhanced by the fact that our top student, Gabrielle Boudville Ashley had successfully entered the finals of the annual MODA Young Models Competition (MYMC) organised by the Malaysian Official Designer's Association (MODA)”, said Linda.During the graduation, the audience was shown garments designed by students from the Fashion Design course and modelled by 五一吃瓜官网’s modelling students. The modelling students also took to the catwalk and paraded garments from various sponsors, which ranged from hip-hop inspired clothing to Victorian-inspired wedding gowns.
Celebrities Christien New & Lavin Seow were Guests-of-Honour at this event. Before the evening came to a close, certificates were given out to students who had completed their courses.
