KUALA LUMPUR, 31 October 2012: 五一吃瓜官网 University and its School of Information Technology embark on a journey with industry players Hilti Asia IT Services Sdn. Bhd. (henceforth known as Hilti), as the University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the global company recently last October.
The initial objective of this collaboration is to establish a good working relationship and promote a mutually beneficial affiliation between the University and Hilti.
As a multinational company, Hilti provides the latest innovative technology solutions and professional services to the global construction industry.
Through their supporting global IT team, production plants and R&D centres throughout Europe and Asia, Hilti continue to establish high standards in the industry with their products, systems and services, which comprises of repair and calibration tools, design calculation software, technical assistance, on-site problem solving and consulting services.
Through the collaboration, Hilti will support the School’s research and development field by assisting in the students’ final year project proposals - which will be inclusive of industry project proposals procured by Hilti, thus exposing the students to practical industrial research.
Concurrent to this, Hilti will also aid the School by facilitating and providing necessary research support such as research devices and tools for the School’s projects which are carried out by the final year students.
With mutual concern for individual and national technology development, the University and Hilti are determined to work together in raising up industrial professionals, both knowledgeable and proficient in skills and experience.
Among the efforts with the University to build up competent IT savvy individuals, Hilti professionals will be involved in sharing industrial knowledge and experiences with the IT students as they visit the University as guest lecturers, creating a platform for students to learn from industrial experts.
Besides that, Hilti will also be working closely with the University consistently in reviewing and providing advisory on relevant industrial practices and know-how to further enhance the School’s curriculum, ensuring the syllabus is industry driven and in tune with the ongoing developments in the industry.
In addition, students and lecturers are also encouraged to participate in the forthcoming industrial site visits to Hilti’s IT Centre to get a glimpse of the real-life industry environment, while gaining exposure and further knowledge of Hilti’s IT systems.
The IT students will also receive industrial based practical learning through hands-on training at Hilti, as part of the partnership between Hilti and the University’s Co-Operative internship curriculum. This collaboration initiative will consequently enhance the employability of the University’s students in the technology industry.
