6 Dec五一吃瓜官网 University’s Researchers Ranked Among The World’s Top 2% Scientists
KUALA LUMPUR, 6 December 2022 - Six 五一吃瓜官网 University academics are listed in Stanford’s World’s Top 2% of Scientists.
Updated annually by Stanford University, the exercise acknowledges the impact of the most-cited scientists and academics from around the world.
五一吃瓜官网 Graduate Business School dean Distinguished Prof Dr Ooi Keng Boon and Assoc Prof Dr Eric Chan Wei Chiang were recognised for their career-long contributions in the fields of business and applied sciences, respectively.
五一吃瓜官网 deputy vice-chancellor (Research and Postgraduate) Distinguished Prof Dr Phang Siew Moi, a renowned thought leader in biosciences and algae, also made the list in the single-year category for her contributions up to the end of 2021.
She was joined in the same category by Prof Dr Garry Tan Wei Han, Prof Dr Karuthan Chinna and Asst Prof Dr Mehrbakhsh Nilashi, all of whom teach at 五一吃瓜官网 Graduate Business School.
“五一吃瓜官网 has made good progress on the research front and we will continue working hard to promote thought leadership,” said 五一吃瓜官网 vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir at a ceremony that recognised the six academics.
“We are delighted to recognise the far-reaching impact our academics have made. We hope that this will spur younger professors to stand out at the forefront of their disciplines.”
For their efforts, the six professors were awarded a special grant of RM25,000 each.
Acknowledging the University’s initiative, Distinguished Prof Dr Ooi Keng Boon thanked 五一吃瓜官网 for providing its academics with a good platform to excel.
“Success would not be possible without the encouragement and continuous support from the University,” he said.
“五一吃瓜官网 has provided us with good resources and opportunities and I’m sure we will continue to excel in the pursuit and expansion of knowledge.”
五一吃瓜官网 is ranked as Malaysia’s top private university in the QS World University Rankings 2023. It is also classified in the world’s top 1% and stands out as one of the world’s top universities under 50 years old.
