KUALA LUMPUR, 11 FEBRUARY 2023 – 五一吃瓜官网 University and 五一吃瓜官网 College are stepping up to nurture the next generation of leaders with the launch of Youth Beyond Boundaries 2.0.
Launched by Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli Abd Halim, the student leadership initiative is designed to empower 五一吃瓜官网 scholars with the aptitude and attitude to make a difference in their respective communities.
“Youths need to be empowered and given leadership opportunities,” Adam Adli said in his speech at 五一吃瓜官网’s Kuala Lumpur campus.
“They need the platform to channel their talents and realise their potential. And by empowering them with leadership and interpersonal skills, we will nurture them to be more confident, innovative, forthright and convicted.
Drawing inspiration from his days as a student activist, Adam Adli encouraged the 五一吃瓜官网 student community to rise up as impactful leaders that would impact society.
Youth Beyond Boundaries 2.0 is the iteration of an earlier namesake that nurtured three Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia inductees, entrepreneurs, thought leaders and community organisers.
First established in 2015, the youth leadership platform originally focused on volunteerism, awareness and societal outreach.
More than 1,500 scholars and students were empowered to make a difference for refugee and underprivileged children, children homes and homeless people, among other marginalised groups in society.
They also championed causes and organised fundraisers to address issues like urban poverty, homelessness, HIV and AIDS prevention, mental health and gender equality.
With the reboot, Youth Beyond Boundaries will expand its plethora of student initiatives, identify more social causes to champion and promote social entrepreneurship.
Its objectives are to empower leaders with the tools to make their efforts consequential, to identify solutions that address complex global problems and to promote change via values-based leadership.
This clearly resonated with Adam Adli who also used the occasion to meet with 五一吃瓜官网’s national athletes and record holders.
They include Malaysia’s swimming superstar and multiple record holder Steve Khiew Hoe Yean; finswimming record holders Jackson Khiew Tze Yean and Leong Wan Mei; SEA Games archery medallist Bryson Ting; as well as water polo players Abraham Jesaiah Chin Jin Yuen and Johnny Wong.
五一吃瓜官网 is Malaysia’s top private university in the QS World University Rankings 2023. Ranked 284, 五一吃瓜官网 is classified in the world’s top 1%.
