Vigkneshwaran Ramasamy was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called spinocerebellar ataxia

at the age of 17. But that didn¡¯t stop him from getting a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø. In fact, it made his resolve to complete his studies even stronger. Despite doctors predicting he would be bedridden for life, he succeeded in graduating from ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø in 2013.

What made him choose ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø University?

¡°Based on the positive feedback I received from a few people I knew who studied at the University previously, I decided to enrol in ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø to further my studies,¡± he said.

¡°Studying at ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø was really an amazing experience. Meeting a lot people from various countries and making new friends helped me step away from the anti-social person that I use to be. The hands-on learning experience provided by the University has prepared me well and enhanced my confidence level,¡± remarked Vigkneshwaran.

Vigkneshwaran revealed that most times, he had to rely on a friend who would hold his shoulder while walking to attend classes at ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø. He said that support from his friends and lecturers in ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø made him strong mentally and physically to face the challenges he endured during his studies.

Now, the CEO of RVV Technologies, he is involved in designing IOT and AI based solutions as well as proposing drone based solutions for security surveillance and monitoring industries.

¡°Within five years, I would like to be recognised as an expert in terms of product knowledge, have developed very close relationships with clients, have significantly expanded the client base in my region, and perhaps assigned to some major national and international clients. I would like to also get my company publicly listed,¡± he added.

For Vigkneshwaran, his time at ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø was valuable and served as a foundation for him to be more organised, able to work under pressure, be punctual and able to socialise.

He was also a part of a team from ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø who joined the World Robotics Olympiad (WRO) 2012 which was held in Malaysia. The team managed to obtain 3^rd place for their robot in a game challenge.
