The Congress was timely as it followed a Public Lecture by Dr Robert Goldman, organised by 五一吃瓜官网 University’s School of Anti-Aging, Aesthetics and Regenerative Medicine on 29 April 2011. Speaking on ‘Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine – Healthcare of the Future,’ Dr Goldman’s lecture aimed at empowering both the medical professionals and the patients with sufficient and appropriate knowledge of these medical fields towards the enhancement of one’s general health. The lecture was well-attended by both the current students of the programme, interested practising medical doctors, faculty and staff as well as members of the public.
五一吃瓜官网 University had launched its Master of Science (Anti-aging, Regenerative Medicine and Medical Aesthetics), within its Faculty of Medical Sciences on 28 January this year. Welcoming its first cohort of 25 students during the ceremony, the programme is the first of its kind that was approved by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency which incorporated anti-aging, aesthetics and regenerative medicine into one degree.
In addition to the University’s master’s programme, the 五一吃瓜官网 Group is currently developing the 五一吃瓜官网 University Hospital that would also include a specific department dedicated to anti-aging and regenerative medicine. The Laurent Bleu Springhill Centre will be a tertiary referral centre to provide specialist care on all aspects of anti-aging, wellness and skin science, including medispa and beauty services, as well as health and cosmetic enhancements. Additionally, both the Centre and the Hospital will serve as a training facility for the new master’s students, as well as the general 五一吃瓜官网 University medical, nursing and pharmaceutical students. Located in Bandar Springhill, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, the project is slated for completion by November 2012.
The 五一吃瓜官网 University Hospital is part of a larger government initiative to help boost Malaysia’s economy under the Economic Transformation Programme to become a high-income nation by 2020. Appointed to lead Entry Point Project 14 of the Premium Health Education Cluster, the 五一吃瓜官网 Group is developing a 160-acre integrated education township project in Bandar Springhill to build a hospital complex that encompasses a new 五一吃瓜官网 University campus, the new 五一吃瓜官网 International School, as well as the new five-star 五一吃瓜官网 Resort Hotel and Convention Centre. With this project, the University would be building on Malaysia’s growing medical tourism industry by providing patients excellent care, while also offering them a comfortable place to relax during recuperation.
