Responsibilities

Overall Responsibilities

The EdTech Support role has four primary purposes:

  • Promote innovative teaching practices that enhance student learning at 五一吃瓜官网 Schools Springhill (iPad Setup, Deploying Apps, Helping Teachers Connect and Use Apps)
  • Promote innovative teaching practices that enhance student learning at 五一吃瓜官网 Schools Springhill  (Microsoft Setup, Showcase School application, Helping Teachers Connect and Use EdTech)
  • Provide CCAs for Robotics for UIS and SSU, during school hours (2x for UIS, 2x for SSU weekly, approximately 1 hour each)
  • Provide Robotics and EdTech Events for Internal and External students, outside of school hours (2x each month at first, possibly more later; all time would be replaced, approximately 2-4 hours each)

 

Other tasks may include

  • This individual provides professional development opportunities to assist faculty in creating, implementing, and evaluating their use of educational technology.
  • Collaborating with faculty and staff on the effective use of instructional strategies with the aim of inspiring curiosity and passion in the classroom.
  • As part of the EdTech Team, providing input towards broader institutional policies regarding technology and works closely with the EdTech team.
  • Integrating this technology into specific lessons, decide which academic programs should use more technology, and develop digital curriculum guidelines for teachers.
  • Demonstrating leadership and support for others, but educational technology coordinators rarely supervise other staff in the school district.
  • This position works with all teachers, provides small workshops as well as one-on-one support for teachers.
  • This position may be required to support one of our sister schools with EdTech development.

 

General Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support and work towards the Vision and Mission of the School
  • Communicate the School’s vision compellingly and support the Principal’s strategic leadership
  • Lead on particular whole school strategies and policies areas in relation to EdTech and Use of Technology
  • Oversee, implement from start to finish the addition of EdTech to the curriculum in the school.
  • Managing change and evaluating results of EdTech solutions
  • Lead and promote the use of technology throughout the school
  • Lead CCA’s that promote the integration and development of technology in the school and increase the presence of the school in the local community
  • Help to integrate EdTech, especially Apple and Microsoft Education into teachers’ lessons
  • Monitor the implementation and incorporation of educational technology in the teachers’ lessons
  • Provide training and increase articulation of the EdTech programmes and strategies
  • Lead the schools to achieve and maintain the Apple Distinguished School and Microsoft Showcase School status
  • Provide advice to the school management on which academic programmes should use more technology, particularly Apple and Microsoft Education resources
  • Research and promote innovation of emerging technologies that support modern educational technology integrations.
  • Assist in the identification and alignment of learning priorities with educational technology resources
  • Serves as the liaison between the school and Apple/Microsoft to promote innovation of emerging EdTech integrations
  • Helps teachers integrate technology into the curriculum sustainably
  • Creating online modules, contents, managing online school communities
  • Provide professional Development for Teachers to improve their IT literacy skills
  • Design and implement a curriculum that makes use of the makerspace and robotics technology
  • Be part of the School’s promotion and marketing programmes
  • To lead the Robotics and Coding Centre as part of the marketing programme by organizing camps, programmes, and workshops on Saturdays
  • Assist in creating and publishing contents for School’s Website, School Facebook page and other online and social platforms
  • Build positive relationships with members of the school community
  • Attend daily and weekly meetings as required
  • Build effective relationship with all stakeholders through excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and taking and providing appropriate advice
  • Represent the school at educational conferences and making certain that other with curriculum development responsibilities also have this opportunity
  • Produce written reports and data as required, to the Head of EdTech, Principals, to the Board and any individual or organisation nominated by the School Leadership Team as required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Other Essential Functions/Role and Responsibilities

  • Research, pilot, and share new and emerging technologies and/or educational trends that improve student learning
  • Provide leadership in promoting a culture of innovative institutional practices
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with teachers, engaging the academic community in exploring, discussing, sharing, and evaluating educational technology practices
  • Conduct workshops and 1:1 tutorials for teachers, students and parents
  • Support the school, administration, and staff’s use of the school’s Learning Management System e.g. Toddle, EduSMART as well as Microsoft, Google, Jamf systems
  • Maintain and create high-quality technology guides and digital learning materials that address popular/relevant topics.
  • Promote and encourage faculty participation and presentations at educational conferences
  • Work with students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders regarding social media and technology opportunities and challenges
  • Collaborate with academic departments to promote best practices with regard to technology, innovation, research, and creative design thinking
