Hyundai Veloster exhibit draws crowd at ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø University

Kuala Lumpur - Hosted by ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø University, the Hyundai Veloster exhibit drew much attention from the crowd when it was unveiled on Nov 7, 2012, during the Hyundai "Veloster Challenge" launching ceremony.

Competing with other universities, the display was the culmination of months of hard work and dedication by the PixelBox team - comprising five 3D Animation Design students under the University's De Institute of Creative Arts and Design (ICAD) - who joined efforts to create and design a unique concept and display for the model.

It was apparent that the many fun games and activities - namely, a quiz based on a slide show presentation, cash-for-grabs sessions, spelling the "Veloster challenge" backwards in less than 20 seconds and quick prize giveaways, among others - that were coordinated during the launch were excellent crowd-pullers, in line with the concept by Pixelbox.

Finilia Tee, the project lead for team PixelBox, said: "Instead of a basic display, we wanted to engage the crowd as our concept is more crowd-driven. We had fun organising this and wanted our audience to have a fun time as well, which is why we dished out exciting, on-the-spot games and prizes such as pen drives, headphones, speakers and cash."

"It would be nice if we could prove to people that ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø (University) can be amongst the best, and that we can live up to the standard."

The inter-varsity competition also ran parallel to other Hyundai Veloster contests such as the "Creative Display Contest" on Facebook and the "Rev it up - Take 2! Individual Challenge", where interested participants were required to produce a 30-second commercial featuring the Hyundai Veloster.

Participating teams will be judged based on various criteria - including the number of votes on their Veloster Facebook page ¨C and the winning team will walk away with RM50K.

"I'm very proud of team Pixelbox. I believe that their concept has successfully captured the essence of what the Hyundai Veloster is all about - functionality and fun," said Dennis Wong Chee De, head of ICAD's 3D Animation Design department.
