Intel Career Talk Organised By LSA


五一吃瓜官网 University's Logistics Student Association (LSA) recently arranged a career talk by Intel Corporation. Intel Corporation is an American multinational corporation and a technology company headquartered in Santa Clara, California, in the Silicon Valley. Intel is the manufacturer of semiconductor computer circuits.

The company’s name is derived from the term “integrated electronics. Intel Malaysia Sdn Bhd is located in the Bayan Lepas Free Trade Zone, Penang. 

The purpose of this career talk was to introduce LSA members to supply chain operations, particularly to the state-of-the-art supply chain processes of Intel Corporation. John Morrissey, Senior Manager, Assembly and Test (Global Supply Management) of Intel discussed several functions of supply chain management like material planning, procurement, integration, warehousing, fulfilment and distribution.

He also talked briefly about the career opportunities at Intel Corporation. Morrissey was accompanied by Lynn Ng, Manager, Assembly and Test (Global Supply Management) of Intel Corporation and Alex from the HR Office of Intel Corporation.

A total of 50 students from MSc in Logistics Management, BA (Hons) Logistics Management, BA (Hons) Supply Chain Management and Diploma in Logistics Management programmes, accompanied by Assistant Professor Siti Norida Wahab, seized the opportunity to obtain ideas, insights, and experiences.

After the Q and A session, Morrissey and his team had a meeting with Logistics Management Head Of Department Assistant Professor Siti Norida Wahab to give his valuable opinion on the study and content of the Logistics Management syllabus.

At the end of the meeting, Assistant Professor Siti handed over a certificate and souvenir to Morrissey and his team.

This career talk proved to be beneficial as it gave a clear picture about the supply chain operations of the tech giant, Intel Corporation. Supply chain operations are one of the core areas of Logistics Management studies. LSA plans to organise these kinds of activities regularly.
