KNOWLEDGE SHARING IN MEDIA PRACTICES AND TRENDS


Kuala Lumpur, 03 August 2010 - A visit from two media specialists from the University of Swinburne in Australia to the Group Corporate Affairs office at 五一吃瓜官网 University provided a healthy exchange of ideas and the sharing of knowledge between the media relations departments of the two universities.

Group Vice President for Corporate Affairs, Ms Margaret Soo, Ms Belinda Chee and Ms Chen Su Yin from the Group Corporate Affairs Office met with the visitors, Ms Heather Crosling, Associate Director, Media & Communications Unit, Ms Crystal Ladiges, Media Relations Manager and, Dr. Francois Malherbe, the Associate Dean for the Faculty of Life and Social Sciences from Swinburne.

The exchange found both universities sharing many similarities in terms of their organizational set-up, as well as how they communicate with students, the academic staff, and the various stakeholders. The trend on utilizing social networking tools to engage students in communication is seen as one of the major growing trends in both universities.

Ms Soo acknowledged that there is much 五一吃瓜官网 University could learn from Swinburne’s 100 years in the education field. The meeting ended with both parties agreeing to continue sharing their ideas and best practices in media relations in the future.
