27 FebMedals Galore For FoBIS At The MTE 2020
Associate Professor Dr Ganeshsree Selvachandran and team won four awards in the Invention & Innovation Awards (IIA) at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) held on 20-22 February 2020 at PWTC, Kuala Lumpur. Altogether they participated in the IIA with four products and all four products won awards; specifically 2 Silver awards, 1 Bronze award and 1 Merit award.
Product 1 by Associate Professor Dr Ganeshsree Selvachandran and Assistant Professor Dr Quek Shio Gai was ‘An Artificial Intelligence System with Complex Fuzzy Logic for the Automated Detection of Diabetic Retinopathy’ which won the Silver award.
Product 2 by Assistant Professor Dr Rohana Sham, Dr Abdurrahman Jalil and Assistant Professor Dr Amir 'Aatieff Amir Hussin (IIUM) was the ‘E-Hailing Trash App’ which also won the Silver award. Product 3 by Associate Professor Dr Ganeshsree Selvachandran, Assistant Professor Dr Rohana Sham, Assistant Professor Dr Noorsiah Ahmad, and Assistant Professor Dr Amir 'Aatieff Amir Hussin was ‘A Blockchain and IOT Powered Halal Logistics and Supply Chain Management System for Tracking Container Movement and Monitoring Sertu Cleansing’ which won the Bronze award.
Product 4 was by Associate Professor Dr Ganeshsree Selvachandran, Assistant Professor Dr Quek Shio Gai, Assistant Professor Dr Rohana Sham and Assistant Professor Dr Noorsiah Ahmad entitled ‘Developing a Muslim Friendly Homestay Layout using Artificial Intelligence Techniques’ which won the Merit Award.
Dr Ganeshsree expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the faculty dean Professor Dr Ooi Keng Boon and DVC of Research and Postgraduate Studies, Professor Dr Phang Siew Moi for their constant encouragement, guidance and financial support that enabled her team and her to obtain these achievements.
“We will strive to continuously improve ourselves and we are hoping to do even better in our next competition which is the 31st International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2020) that will be held in June 2020 at KLCC”, said Dr Ganeshsree.
