Hin Ee Jeng (丘于正) is a contemporary pianist and keyboardist born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia who draws many genres in his learning of performing. In the age of 5, he started learning classical music under Royal School of Music London as well went training under Yamaha Music School. After he is done with classical training, he went on to continue his musical journey and pursued a Bachelor degree under University Westminster in International College of Music, where he was introduced to play contemporary music in general. At the same time, he completed Associated Diploma in Recital in Solo Piano under Trinity College London. He specializes in contemporary styles like Pop, Funk, R&B, and Jazz. He has been a music lecturer since 2010, focusing on contemporary piano playing and music ensembles.
He has been actively performing various gigs around Kuala Lumpur and other states cince 2006. Ee Jeng has performed with a variety of jazz/fusion artists including pianist Michael Veerapen, guitarist Jose Thomas, drummer Lewis Pragasam, guitarist Randy Bernsen, singer Laura Fygi, and bassist Andy Peterson. Not only that, he has performed with a variety pop artists including Taiwan ShiShi, Malaysia Dayang Nurfaizah, Singapore Olivia Ong and Hong Kong Wong Cho Lam.
In 2020, Ee Jeng has released in his first debut piano trio album, Dawn at the Highway, has also recorded with bassist Daniel Foong and drummer Arthur Kam.
Ee Jeng also leads another band project based soul and funk music called Funkatorie, performing along with guitarist Dean Sim, drummer Derrick Siow, saxophonist Yow Weng Wai, and trumpeter Eddie Wen. In 2021, Funkatorie first debut album was recorded and launched.
