Responsibilities

• Getting the classroom ready for lessons
• Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
• Helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records
• Working alongside teachers to support learning activities
• Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour
• Supervising group activities
• Looking after children who are upset or have had accidents
• Clearing away materials and equipment after lessons
• Helping with outings and sports events
• Helping to plan lessons and prepare teaching materials
• Leading classes under the direction of the teacher
• Providing assessment, record and report on the progress of children you work with
• Carrying out administrative tasks
• Keeping up to date with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods
• Contributing to the academic and social life of the school
• Covering for absent colleagues
• Taking responsibility for the creation and maintenance of a positive work environment
• Sharing resources for the benefit of the school programs
• Setting a positive example for students
• Ensuring that activities provide a safe and positive environment
• Showing respect for students, value their individual talents, differentiate according to their abilities, and create opportunities for success
• Maintaining consistently high expectations for student achievement and behaviour
• Ensuring that school resources and property are used responsibly
• If requested, participating in marketing activities held by the school.
• Performing other duties assigned by your supervisor from time to time

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in related field
• With teaching experience in a school environment
