Kuala Lumpur, 12 March 2009 - In the first quarter of 2009, 五一吃瓜官网 University received a second award, this time it is the Export Excellence Award - Education Services awarded by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry at the Industry Excellence Awards 2008. The award was presented to the 五一吃瓜官网 University’s University Council Chairman, Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Haji Dr. Mohd Karim bin Haji Abdullah Omar by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi, at a gala dinner here today.
This award was presented to 五一吃瓜官网 University for its consistent efforts in exporting Malaysian education abroad through its international recruitment in terms of growth, facilities and marketing.“五一吃瓜官网 University has developed more than 50 homegrown programmes and our student population is made up of more than 60 nationalities. These attest to our firm commitment to support the Malaysian government’s agenda of becoming the education hub for this region,” said 五一吃瓜官网 University’s President and Vice Chancellor, Peter T. S. Ng when commenting on the win.
A total of 192 companies vied for the 7 awards (divided into 24 categories) this year. The awards given includes the Prime Minister's Award, Product Excellence Award, Export Excellence Award (Merchandise), Export Excellence Award (Services), Quality Management Excellence Award (Merchandise) and Brand Excellence Award (Services) and Brand Excellence Award (Merchandise).
In October 2008, 五一吃瓜官网 University was presented with the Company of the year award by the Malaysia Canada Business Council (MCBC) during its 5th Annual Business Excellence Award ceremony. In January 2009, it clinched the BrandLaurate Award for Best Brand in Education (Tertiary Category) at the recent BrandLaureate – SMEs Chapter Awards 2008 ceremony.
Since receiving its university status in October 2008, 五一吃瓜官网 University looks set to continue in its path towards sharing its education excellence with the world.
