五一吃瓜官网 WINS AWARDS FOR IN-HOUSE INVENTIONS

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 May 2007 - 五一吃瓜官网 has once again gained recognition recently.

During the 18th International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition 2007 (ITEX) which was held at the KLCC Convention Centre, the 五一吃瓜官网 team clinched silver awards for two inventions in their respective categories. The two inventions are the Modular Socket (MOST) and the Global Positioning System Power Metering (GPM).

The 五一吃瓜官网 Team consisting of Dr. Jimmy Mok and Mr. Rodney Tan from the Center for Research and Development Commercialisation (CRDC), and students Low Tong Kong and Tan Aik Chun from the School of Engineering were involved in developing the invention known as Modular Socket (MOST). MOST was created to solve the problems of our current power extension socket which comprises 3 to 5 sockets with limited cable length. The idea mooted by the CRDC team, allows flexible add-on of power sockets as needed without purchasing a new set of power extension sockets.Lee Chong Haw and Kean Siang were the group members behind the Global Positioning System Power Metering (GPM) invention. The GPM enables electricity billing via the device and also has the unique capability to both cut-off and reconnect electricity.

ITEX is the international exhibition and platform for both local and foreign inventors, and innovators, to meet entrepreneurs, venture capitalist as well as manufacturers to exchange creative concepts and innovations. The exhibition received participation from countries such as Korea, Taiwan, Russia and Hong Kong.
