Administrative Leadership and Management - To lead the development and delivery of campus’s plans and initiatives, in line with the university’s strategic vision and strategies.
- To work closely with Senior Vice President, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Provost, Deans and Head of Departments to develop and advance the University’s profile in world-class academic platforms both nationally and internationally. To drive significant increases in research quality, output and impact building on existing academic and research strengths across campuses.
- To drive the development and delivery of high-quality attractive portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and to ensure the campus’s financial sustainability.
- Coordinating, preparing, implementing and reviewing strategic academic plans in the University’s planning cycle.
- To monitor and facilitate the campus’ student recruitment activities and to ensure student recruitment targets and budgets are met.
- To maintain and develop external links with a range of local, regional, national and international academic institutions and other organisations
- To encourage and promote the generation of external income, especially in areas related to global engagement.
- To ensure and enhance the quality of the undergraduate and postgraduate provision, which is compliant with 五一吃瓜官网 University and MQA standards and other regulatory bodies.
- To be responsible for the planning and management of campus resources, including delegated budgets, and facilitating external income generation and expenditures.
- To provide leadership to the campus’ top and senior management, deans and directors.
- To ensure risks are managed effectively across the campus ensuring a safety conscious culture including taking responsibility for the implementation of relevant health and safety policies.
- To undertake any other responsibilities as determined from time to time by Bord of Directors and/ or Vice Chancellor.
Academic Leadership and Management - Providing academic leadership and support to achieve excellence in the learning, teaching and research of the Faculty.
- Work closely with academicians across campuses in developing and exercising strategic plans as well as best practices to achieve educational goals and objectives. This is to ensure that that all the academic work of the Faculty meets and exceeds the Quality requirements of national & international benchmarks, professional or national accreditation criteria, & complies fully with UGC, MQA and University policies
- Chairing the University Academic Board and/or Faculty/School Board meetings and overseeing its standing committees' operation.
- To be involved in teaching, research, administrative tasks and other academic matters as and when assigned by the leadership.
- Developing, maintaining and ensuring timely completion of a systematic evaluation and assessment plan for the Faculty/School.
- Managing the effective operation of all University processes for the establishment & maintenance of the academic quality of fields of studies, programmes and courses in the Faculty/School.
- Overseeing the proper conduct of all matters relating to student learning & student assessment within the Faculty/School.
- Overseeing academic processes within the Faculty/School, including selection, deployment, development & appraisal, including academic staffing issues.
- Maintaining and promoting awareness of and implementation of the academic policies of the University.
- Ensuring wide consultation takes place within the Faculty/School as part of the decision-making process.
- Representing and promoting the Faculty’s/School’s interests within the University.
- Liaison with external bodies, including professional organisations, employers & other stakeholders, and the wider academic community.
