13 FebStaff Development Training with Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology (SICT)
Kuala Lumpur, 13 February, 2012 - The Faculty of Business and Information Science (FoBIS) was delighted to host and welcome lecturers and staff from the Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology (SICT) for the Staff Development Training. FoBIS was grateful to organise the training and host the visit from SICT as one of their collaboration partners located in Jinan, Shandong in China. The guests were hosted by the Dean of FoBIS, Associate Professor Dr Toh Kian Kok; Head of Collaboration Affairs, Karen Poon Yean Peng and some of the programme heads.
Among the activities held during the one week training were class observations, discussions and sharing of experience with the FoBIS lecturers, as well as administration training in the International Marketing, International Office and FoBIS administration office. These classes which were attended by the Fundamentals of Management, Business Research Methods, Business Communication, Organisational Behaviour, Business Statistics and Business Mathematics staff also included some briefing related to Co-Ops and tutorials.
In addition, the University's representative brought the SICT staff on a campus tour to visit the hostel with a special meeting conducted by Ms. Karen for staff to meet the present SICT students studying the BA (Hons) in Business Administration and BSc (Hons) in Business Information Systems programmes at 五一吃瓜官网 University.
An SICT lecturer who attended the Staff Development Training said, "Most of the lectures given by the 五一吃瓜官网 University's lecturers had contributed immensely to the progress of our work." In conclusion, they hope they could help the SICT students to adapt to the life studying overseas in an effort to also improve their English communication skills.
