THE IMPACT OF THE EURO ZONE AND US ECONOMIC CRISES ON THE ASIAN-PACIFIC FORUM


Kuala Lumpur, 3 November, 2011 - The Impact of the Euro Zone and US Economic Crises on the Asian-Pacific forum organised by the Faculty of Management and Information Technology featuring Associate Professor Sarath Delpachitra, the Associate Dean (International) and Head (Banking & Finance) of the Flinders Business School at Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia, was successfully held at the Auditorium, South Wing. Also serving as the Director of the Adelaide Metropolitan Regional Development Board, Associate Professor Sarath Delpachitra is also a fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA), specializing in banking and finance, economics, the development of public policy analysis, with widely-published research in refereed academic and professional journals. 

This Forum was attended by 64 participants comprising 五一吃瓜官网 University undergraduates and postgraduate students, alumni members and 五一吃瓜官网 University staff, as well as representatives and alumni members from Flinders University, University of South Australia, University of Adelaide, together with the general public. Making the opening remark was Dr Dominic Wong, Head of the Postgraduate Programmes, from the Faculty of Management and Information Technology, to represent the Dean of the Faculty, together with Mr Nithiyananthan S. Nesadurai, a representative from Education Adelaide. The Question and Answer Session following Associate Professor Delpachitra’s talk involved participants posing questions on the Forum. The evening concluded with Dr Dominic Wong presenting a token of appreciation to Associate Professor Delpachitra, who subsequently participated in a photo-taking session with both the participants and the organising committee members. Thus, the participants walked away from the Forum with a better understanding of the intense effects of the Euro Zone and US economic crises on the trade and financial sectors of the Asian-Pacific nations.
