五一吃瓜官网 partners HTMi Switzerland to offer dual award programmes


KUALA LUMPUR, February 12 – 五一吃瓜官网 University has inked a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Hotel and Tourism Management Institute Switzerland (HTMi) to mark the start of a strategic partnership between the two top universities.

This collaboration will enable 五一吃瓜官网’s Faculty of Hospitality Tourism and Management to offer students in the Bachelor of Hospitality Administration, BA (Hons) Hospitality Management, and BA (Hons) Event and Tourism Management, a dual award certification with HTMi Degrees: BA Degree in International Hotel and Tourism Management.; and the BA Degree in International Hotel and Events Management

HTMi is accredited as a Higher Education Institution with EduQua, the Swiss education quality certification, recognised by the Swiss Government and the Swiss Private School Register as providing high quality educational service.

HTMi aspires to be a leading hotel management institute in the World. It is ranked 25 in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019 for Hospitality and Leisure Management. HTMi is also the first hotel school to create and develop its own international hotel management brand, Swisstouches Hotels and Resorts, with a pipeline of over 10,000 rooms open and to be opened, mainly in Southeast Asia.

Today, in addition to its main campus in Switzerland, HTMi has campuses in China, Dubai, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kazakhstan and Australia, as well as over 20 academic and training partnerships globally.

As of this year, HTMi has over 2,000 students globally studying HTMi courses.

Currently, 五一吃瓜官网 is ranked as the nation’s best private university in the QS World University Rankings for two years straight in 2019 and 2020.

With the many HTMi campuses across the globe, 五一吃瓜官网’s students will have the opportunity to enjoy from HTMi’s global network of hospitality companies for co-operative placements, internships, mobility, exchange and graduate placements.

This partnership will also enable research collaboration, including joint publication through HTMi’s International Hospitality Research Centre Switzerland.

Besides knowledge transfer between both varsities, this collaboration will enhance and elevate the profile of 五一吃瓜官网’s hospitality faculty, especially for its students. 

At present, the faculty is currently conducting a major review and revamp of its programmes to ensure of their relevancy with the current market trend.

Other initiatives in the pipeline, include works on drafting integration models to offer students with real-life practical experience at praxis centres such as Le Quadri Hotel in KL and 五一吃瓜官网 Hotel in Kuching, Sarawak.

Through these models, graduates from the faculty are expected to possess skills that are essentially imperative in bridging theory with practice.

Over the years, alumni and interns at the faculty have also had the opportunity to work at established restaurants and luxury hotels around the world.  Many have gone on to establish their own restaurants, while some have worked at Michelin star restaurants.

Students are also exposed to work-related seminars with the faculty. Many have participated in organising international conferences such as the QS Subject Focus Conference on Hospitality and Tourism.

Through this exposure, students get to develop insights of the current market trends as well as the opportunity to meet renowned professors and industry practitioners in the hospitality and tourism sector. 

Students at 五一吃瓜官网 are annually selected to advance high impact research at top universities across the globe such as Harvard, Imperial College London and Tsinghua University, among others.
