18 Mar五一吃瓜官网 University and Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Marked a Newly-Formed Partnership through MoU Signing
16 March 2020 – 五一吃瓜官网 University continues to soar higher and has yet to show any signs of slowing down, even after approximately 34 years since its inception, as the university has recently entered into a partnership with Virginia Commonwealh University from the USA.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was signed by both tertiary academic institutions on 9 March 2020 is a testament to a new bridge built with the aims of cultivating an enriching relationship between the two, as well as to boost academic and cultural exchange to advance the discovery of new knowledge; allow for creative expression and innovation; enhance teaching and learning; strengthen the positive impact on their communities; and to work together towards the internationalisation of higher education at their respective institutions for the next three years.
Vice-Chancellor and President of 五一吃瓜官网 University Academician Senior Professor Dato’ Dr Khalid Yusoff, together with the Dean and Archie O. McCalley Chair, School of Pharmacy for Virginia Commonwealth University Professor Dr Joseph T. DiPiro were both present to sign the MoU.
Other participants of the MoU signing event include 五一吃瓜官网 University’s Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Dean Associate Professor Dr Mogana Sundari A/P Rajagopal and Global Engagement Office’s Senior Vice President Mr Willie Tan Moh Leong.
Through the MoU signed, both universities have agreed to the following general areas of interest and cooperation:
- Exchange of scholars and scientists to conduct research of mutual interest.
- Exchange of professors for lectures and short-term visits.
- Invitations to scholars for participation in conferences, symposia and instructions.
- Exchange of information, academic materials and publications in fields of mutual interest.
- Facilitation of the mobility of students through degree transfer programmes, dual degree programmes, joint degree programmes, pharmacy practice experiences, research attachments, and exchanges and visits between the 五一吃瓜官网 University and Virginia Commonwealth University.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at 五一吃瓜官网 University following the International Research Conference on Pharmaceutical and Allied Sciences (IRCPAS2020), where Professor Dr Joseph T. DiPiro was invited as the Keynote speaker. More than 250 delegates from Malaysia and overseas were present at the conference.
