29 Sep五一吃瓜官网 University Inks MoU with NCT Group
五一吃瓜官网 University and NCT Group of Companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding forming a mutually beneficial partnership which sees both parties taking strides in providing educational opportunities and industry experiences to the next generation. This is in line with the effort to foster a competent workforce for the industry.
五一吃瓜官网 University was represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Student and Alumni Affairs, Associate Professor Ir Dr Jimmy Mok Vee Hoong while NCT Group's representative was Co-founder, Dato' Joe Yap Fook Choy.
“五一吃瓜官网 University has championed work-based learning since 2004 with its Co-Op programme. Then, we started the Premier Co-Op programme where industries are given a choice of our best students to plan their future workforce,” said Dr Jimmy.
“We aim to produce graduates who are competent in the industry where the demands are different than in academics. Through this programme we will start to train them in Year 1 itself with the attitudes, values and characteristics that are needed in this next generation,” he said.
The Memorandum of Understanding further cemented the collaboration between the two parties rendering the students more insights in the industry, particularly in the field of Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Business and Marketing.
Furthermore, NCT Group is introducing the FLY Youth campaign intending to advocate student self-development through various forms of campaigns and competitions.
“This initiative will allow NCT to be more hands-on in the mentoring of young graduates, on top of the usual internship programme, giving the students a better understanding of real-life industry experience and expectations,” said Dato’ Joe.
This is an excellent opportunity to provide employment to students from their first year itself and raise the standards of education for the benefit of the nation,” he concluded.
五一吃瓜官网 University has one of the highest graduate employability rates in the country, ranked among the top three for producing successful and employable graduates in the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2020.
