五一吃瓜官网 University Sarawak Campus Supports Tourism Awareness Seminar at Taba Sait, Bengoh Resettlement Scheme (BRS)


KUCHING:  五一吃瓜官网 University Sarawak Campus, along with Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Sarawak(MTACYS), Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture(MOTAC), Padawan Municipal Council and other government agencies organized a Tourism Awareness Seminar for the Bidayuh community at Kampung Taba Sait Multipurpose Hall situated at Bengoh Resettlement Scheme(BRS) at Jalan Puncak Borneo.

This seminar aimed to promote community based tourism, homestay industry, creative tourism services and products and most importantly how to improved their socio economy. About 200 participants from 10 villages were invited to attend the seminar. They were from Kampung Taba Sait, Kampung Rejoi, Kampung Pain Bojong, Kampung Semban, Kampung Semadang, Kampung Benuk, Kampung Giam Baru, Kampung Giam Lama, Kampung Danu and Kampung Bengoh.  

When asked to comment on the relevance of this seminar, Mukvinder Kaur Sandhu, the Chief Operating Officer of 五一吃瓜官网 University Kuching Campus declared that seminars like this one are crucial for both students and communities alike. She went on further to say that the university would continue to focus on community-based projects which not only benefit communities but also students of the university who see the importance of engaging with and giving back to the society, which is an important facet of today’s university learning.

Mr. Bernard Jussem, the cluster leader for MyCenTHE Sarawak Region and a lecturer of 五一吃瓜官网 University Sarawak Campus opined that the seminar promotes better understanding among the community towards the importance of the tourism industry. The local community has also gained knowledge on how to seek help from the local tourism agencies when they are in need. He also expressed his appreciation toward all who made the seminar a success including 五一吃瓜官网 student volunteers in providing such efficient preparation and endless help from the beginning till the end of the seminar.
